We are delighted to announce our new Charity Partner – Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
CRY does amazing work in raising awareness of the risk of undetected cardiac conditions in young people which could lead to sudden cardiac death. The organisation runs a National Screening Programme for 14 – 35 year olds, provides bereavement support to help those who have suffered a loss, and funds medical research. Not only is the charity our neighbour in Leatherhead, but the whole team felt it was such a good and worthwhile cause to support. Further information about the charity’s work can be found at https://www.c-r-y.org.uk/
We were very pleased that our first fundraising event was a Cake Bake to coincide with the charity’s ‘Raising Awareness Week’! We were very impressed by everyone’s efforts and some wonderful creations were enjoyed by all and generous donations made.
John Barker and Lindsey Henderson have also already signed up for the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 29th March 2020 and will be hoping that this fantastic effort will prompt donations from many of their friends and colleagues! We’re told they have bought their trainers and will be out pounding the streets in preparation over the next four months. No doubt they will be in touch early next year with updates and requests for sponsorship.
Other members of the team have been looking at the events organised by CRY in 2020, which will also be the charity’s 25thanniversary year, and we look forward to supporting them in the coming months.
