Two Birds With One Stone

As the environmental impact of refrigerant-based cooling is subjected to closer scrutiny there is growing interest in the use of evaporative humidifiers to control both temperature and relative humidity. John Barker of Humidity Solutions explains why.

The fact that the evaporation of water provides a cooling effect has been known, and utilised effectively, for thousands of years. In recent decades evaporative cooling has been superseded by energy-hungry refrigerant-based cooling in many buildings but is now making a comeback in the form of modern adiabatic humidifiers.
