Humidity Solutions have completed the installation of Neptronic SKEs on Captain FPSO (Floating Production Storage & Offloading) which is located 134km (90 miles) north-east of Aberdeen. It lies in a water depth of 104m (341 ft). The Captain field is owned by Texaco North Sea Company and Korea Captain Company Ltd. The units had low smoke zero halogen wiring looms and were 440 volt versions which were installed onto the Captain’s accommodation facilities.
In order for our service engineer, Faisal Vorajee, to carry out the installation he had to obtain two training certifications.
The first was BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training) which Offshore Oil and Gas operating companies worldwide seek to ensure that everyone traveling to one of their platforms have completed an appropriate offshore safety and emergency training course before being allowed to travel to their offshore asset. This training program is designed to meet the initial offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel new to the offshore oil and gas industry. The course is 3 days long and includes content on:
– Safety Induction
– Helicopter Safety and Escape (HUET)
– Sea Survival
– Firefighting and Self Rescue
The second requirement was MIST (Mimimum Industry Safety Training). The MIST standard ensures that workers have the necessary safety awareness and training to reduce risk and ultimately reduce the number of incidents.
