Food stuffs such as cheese and malt barley both require humidification to assist with the maturing process. High humidity levels are required to ensure wanted mould growth.

Mushroom and maggot farms are in the more unusual sector of farming but important none the less and both require high humidity levels to encourage growth.

Tree storage relies on low temperature and high humidity to put them into a state of dormancy until they are required

These are just some of the examples of where humidity control is essential to the farming and food production sector.
